rebuttals to "Gun Control"
March 27, 2014
Rhode Island State Senator Josh Miller (D-District 28), like many other "gun control" zealots, has difficulty with anger management. And few things are more likely to provoke an enraged reaction from such than being confronted by those unafraid to take them to task for their attacks on Americans' Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human right of the individual to keep and bear arms.
Miller demonstrated this quite starkly, and indeed rather profanely, last Tuesday at the Rhode Island State House when approached by journalist Dan Bidondi, who challenged Miller on his hostility to the rights of armed American citizens. The reaction was decidedly negative (strong language warning):
Infowars correspondent Dan Bidondi approached Miller and other lawmakers at the Rhode Island State House where a slew of anti-second amendment legislation was set to be heard later that evening.
“The second amendment shall not be infringed, you people need to understand that,” Bidondi told Miller.
“Go f*** yourself,” Miller responded as he smiled, before one of his staffers repeated the insult.
Since then, and to the surprise of perhaps no one but himself, Miller has been taking considerable heat. Looking for some further explanation for his appalling conduct on his Facebook page proved unsuccessful, as it appears to have been taken down. If one looks at the Google cache of that page, however, a theory as to why that might be springs quickly to mind. The reaction in comments is quite angry, and indeed, the strong language warning should be repeated here for anyone considering taking a look.
Miller's behavior, while egregious, and particularly unforgivable in a public servant, is hardly a new phenomenon in the annals of gun-ban zealotry. In another recent example, an organizer of a Ceasefire PA event called a gun rights advocate who was handing out literature a "parasite.". Mike Vanderboegh, at Sipsey Street Irregulars, explains why that term might sound familiar (graphic image warning).
Going back further, we see a teachers' union leader and "anti-violence" activist who wants gun rights advocates to burn for all eternity.
An "anti-violence" advocate, enraged by U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp's (D-ND) vote against the Manchin-Toomey "universal background check" bill, tells her of his hope that she will see a family member gunned down in front of her. A journalism professor advocates putting the NRA's millions of members in front of firing squads. Etc., etc.
These people want us, as gun-rights advocates, dead, and are apparently less and less concerned about hiding it. There can be no reasoning with such people. There is no "common ground" to be found. To tell them that they will only have our guns by taking them from our cold, dead hands merely makes them want our guns more, although the vast majority, of course, have no interest in doing the taking themselves. They will leave that dangerous task to whomever among the government's pool of hired muscle lack the morality and intelligence to refuse.
And that is why the poor dupes who are tasked with forcible citizen disarmament enforcement are not the real enemy, although they will have to pay inevitable consequences. The real enemy is the hate-filled monsters who send them.
